Our submission guidelines have changed. Please read the following instructions carefully.

We are no longer accepting submissions by mail.

From now on, please submit your proposals to submissions@gailross.com as a .doc or .docx attachment, or in the body of the email.

Submissions should be double-spaced and in a 12-point or larger font. Do not submit whole manuscripts unless we’ve asked for them. Instead, please send a cover letter, résumé, brief synopsis of your work, and several sample chapters. We also accept query letters.

We represent non-fiction almost exclusively. The few fiction projects we have accepted over the years have all been fiction by established authors. If you fall into this category, we’re happy to read your commercial fiction, but please keep in mind that we never represent genre fiction such as sci-fi, romance, children’s, YA, or mysteries.

We carefully review all unsolicited material, so please anticipate a 4-6 week delay in our response.

As we transition to a paperless submissions system, we will continue to read paper submissions until November 15, 2009. After this date, we regret that you should not expect a response to your paper submission.

Thank you for helping us look out for the environment!
